The Petersen Events Center, located in the heart of Oakland, is the perfect location for your next business or social function. From the arena floor to the unique layout of our First Commonwealth Campus View Club, we have options to fit all of your meeting space needs.

Baierl Rec Center
The 40,000-square-foot Baierl Student Recreation Center features four racquetball courts, two squash courts, Cybex weight machines, large free weight area, aerobics practice room, martial arts practice room, health assessment area, and a state-of-the-art aerobic area complete with treadmills, exercise bikes, and elliptical and Stairmaster machines, as well as four flat-screen plasma TVs.
You may check the current hours of operation at the Intramural
and Recreational Sports site. The Bairel Rec Center faciliies are
available only to currently registered students.
Panthers Team Store
The official Pittsburgh Panthers Team Store is located in the main lobby of the Petersen Events Center, and has the world’s largest selection of Pittsburgh Panthers merchandise.
Days of operation are Monday–Saturday, (closed on Sundays) Hours of Operation Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. and Saturday, 11 a.m.–6 p.m. Open during all Men’s Basketball games. Hours subject to change in off-season. 30-minute parking is available to our customers in the J Lot.
McCarl Hall of Champions
McCarl Panthers Hall of Champions, located in the main lobby of the Petersen Events Center, is the grand showcase for the University of Pittsburgh’s illustrious athletic achievements.
Hours of operation are Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Open during all Men's Basketball games.
Suites
and Premium Seating
The Petersen Events Center offers premium seating and services for five courtside luxury suites, six club suites located on the club level, and six loge suites located on the concourse level. All suites are fully furnished, and feature a wet bar and television.

Meeting Spaces
Arena Floor
The arena floor offers unique presentation capabilities and an impressive
atmosphere for any large-scale function. The floor can be covered with
tables and chairs to accommodate a gathering of up to 1,000 guests.
Theater capacity, 2,225. Permanent seats can add capacity to floor seating.
First Commonwealth Campus View Club
Located on the club level, this 6800-square-foot space offers a very exclusive and elegant experience. With a capacity of 200 people, the club features two full-service bars and unlimited catering options, which makes this is perfect space for holding meetings, conferences, and holiday parties.
Specialty dinner buffets are available before most men’s basketball

Party Suite
Our courtside party suite is fully furnished with a wet bar, television,
and private restroom facilities. This space can easily accommodate up
to 40 people, and is the perfect option for a more intimate atmosphere.
Coaches Corner
Coaches Corner, located on the club level, is the perfect small meeting
space for up to 200 people.
Lobby
With 16,000 square feet of space, 90'-high ceilings, and natural light,
the main lobby is a unique and impressive option for exhibits or public
events. The lobby also features the Panthers Team Store and the McCarl
Hall of Champions.
Outdoor Plaza
Our spacious outdoor patio, located on the concourse level, north of the building, could be an ideal complement to your indoor event. Have your guests’ picnic under tents or create a café setting for a relaxing break to the day’s busy activities.
