Directions/Parking
The Petersen Events Center is located at 3719 Terrace Street in the heart of Oakland. Situated on the Upper Campus, next to Trees Hall, Fitzgerald Field House, and the Cost Center, the Petersen Events Center main lobby entrance is located on Terrace Street in between Darragh and DeSoto Streets. The concourse level entrance is located on Allequippa Street.

DIRECTIONS TO THE UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH'S CAMPUS
From Pittsburgh International Airport (From the West)
- Take I-279 toward Pittsburgh. Pass through the Fort Pitt Tunnel, stay to the right, and bear right at the first ramp over the bridge onto I-376
- Exit I-376 at the Oakland/Forbes Avenue Exit (2A)
- Merge onto Forbes Avenue toward Oakland
- Once on Forbes Avenue, determine which parking area you wish to park at and use the attached map for directions to determine how to get there
From the Pennsylvania Turnpike (From the East) - Take the Pittsburgh/Monroeville Exit (Exit 57). Follow I-376 toward Pittsburgh
- Take the Oakland Exit (3B). Proceed up the hill through the first traffic light
- Continue on Bates Street where you can reach Forbes Avenue by turning left on ANY of the following roads off of Bates: (in order of which you would drive by) McKee Place, Semple St., Atwood St., or S. Bouquet St.
- Continue on road of your choice until you reach the intersection with Forbes Avenue
- Once at the intersection, determine which parking area you wish to park at and use the attached map for directions to determine how to get there from Forbes Avenue
From the North
RECOMMENDED TO AVOID OAKLAND TRAFFIC AND EXTENSIVE DETOUR OF BLVD. OF THE ALLIES
- Take I-79 South to I-279 South to I-579 (Veterans Bridge – Exit 8A)
- Take the 6th Avenue Exit and follow the signs to the Mellon Arena
- Turn left at Bigelow Boulevard (PA 380 E.)
- Continue on Bigelow Boulevard and turn right onto Herron Avenue
- Herron turns into the Robinson Street Extension
- Continue on the Robinson Street Extension and use the attached map for directions on how to access the Towerview and OC Parking lots
OR - Take I-79 South to I-279 South to I-579 (Veterans Bridge – Exit 8A)
- Follow detours signs for Boulevard of the Allies to Oakland and Forbes Ave.
- Once at Forbes Ave., determine which parking area you wish to park at and use the attached map for directions
From the South
- Take I-79 North to I-279 North towards Pittsburgh
- Pass through the Fort Pitt Tunnel, stay to the right, and bear right at the first ramp over the bridge onto I-376
- Exit I-376 at the Oakland/Forbes Avenue Exit (2A)
- Merge onto Forbes Avenue toward Oakland
- Once on Forbes Avenue, determine which parking area you wish to park at and use the attached map for directions to determine how to get there
From Downtown (Accessible from the North, South, West, or East)
- Take Bigelow Boulevard (PA 380 E.) near the north side of the Mellon Arena
- Continue on Bigelow Boulevard and turn right onto Herron Avenue
- Herron turns into the Robinson Street Extension
- Continue on the Robinson Street Extension and use the attached map for directions on how to access the Towerview and OC Parking lots
Parking
For all events, the University of Pittsburgh recommends that attendees park in the OC, OH, or SO parking lots located near the Petersen Events Center. Event parking rates are usually $10 per vehicle, but may vary for each event. For additional parking information and parking locations, please call 412-624-4034 or see the map.
Box Office Parking
For the Lobby Level (athletic) box office, short-term parking is available in the J parking lot, located off of Terrace Street. For the Concourse Level (non-athletic) box office, there are 30-minute parking meters available in front of Sutherland Hall on Allequippa Street.
